The Benue orphan donation drama just went nuclear. Hours after activist D Naked Orkwande dropped her itemized defense, former Benue State University lecturer Dr. Aondona Mkor has entered the ring with a blistering attack on social media personality Ukan Kurugh, demanding full accountability for funds raised for estranged beneficiary Martha Akumbur.

In a scathing post on October 31, 2025, Dr. Mkor didn’t hold back, labeling Ukan a “dubious hustler who can stop at nothing to survive.” The ex-lecturer accused Ukan and his associate Adoo of failing to explain how public donations intended for Martha were spent, calling for the immediate return of every naira contributed.

This latest salvo adds intense pressure on Ukan, who has been positioned as a key figure in the crowdfunding effort for the young woman previously supported by D Naked Orkwande. While Orkwande earlier claimed she had arranged for ₦95,000 to be transferred to Ukan Kurugh for onward delivery to Martha, Dr. Mkor’s statement suggests that money—and possibly more—remains unaccounted for.

The timing is explosive. Orkwande’s earlier breakdown showed ₦365,000 raised from the public and ₦255,000 from her personal funds, totaling ₦620,000 allegedly spent on Martha’s phone, clothing, medical bills, and a costly search operation. But with Martha publicly claiming shortchanged support and now a respected academic joining the fray, questions are mounting: Where exactly did the money go? Who controlled the purse strings? And why is a former university lecturer getting involved?

Dr. Mkor’s involvement lends weight to the growing outcry. Known in Benue intellectual circles, his public condemnation signals that this is no longer just a social media spat—it’s a full-blown accountability crisis threatening the credibility of online activism in the state.

Netizens are now tagging Ukan Kurugh relentlessly, demanding receipts, bank statements, and a live breakdown of inflows and outflows. Some are even calling for an independent audit of the Martha Akumbur fund.

As the clock ticks past midnight on October 31, the once-heartwarming story of a rescued orphan has morphed into a cautionary tale about transparency, trust, and the dark side of viral generosity. One thing is clear: in Benue tonight, no one is sleeping easy—especially not the activists in the hot seat. The people want answers. And they want Martha’s money.
