In a harrowing incident, a young farmer in Benue State, Nigeria, was viciously attacked by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen while working on his farm in Tse-Iordye, Ndzorov Council Ward, Guma Local Government Area. The assault, reported by Daily Post Nigeria, has left the victim in critical condition, battling severe injuries, including an amputated finger, deep cuts on his arm that severed veins, and significant head wounds. Medical personnel have described his chances of survival as “50-50,” underscoring the gravity of the attack.

The farmer was initially rushed to the police divisional headquarters in Gbajimba before being transferred to a hospital, where doctors are working tirelessly to stabilize him. This incident is part of a disturbing wave of violence in Benue State, where clashes between farmers and suspected herdsmen have escalated, causing widespread fear and displacement. Residents are now calling on both state and federal governments to take urgent action to curb the recurring attacks that have claimed numerous lives and devastated communities.
