Pastor Dave Ogewu Faces Backlash Over Transformer Donation Credit in Uje-Anchim Community

A controversy has erupted in the Uje-Anchim community in Igede following the donation of a transformer by Pastor Dave Ogewu, with accusations that he is claiming undue glory for a project that was largely a community effort.

In a statement shared on the Igede Firsts platform, the post acknowledged Pastor Ogewu’s donation of the transformer but stressed that the full package of the community’s electrification project was solely a community initiative, crediting Ikrom godmother Marina Odu Ominy for leading the effort.

The post questioned why Pastor Ogewu was claiming primary credit, describing it as painful that he shared the post publicly. It further alleged that he instructed former Doctor Iji Precious to share a leaked chat between him and comrade Arubi Emmanuel Ogbaji.

The development has sparked reactions among Igede stakeholders, highlighting tensions over recognition for development projects in the area.
