On the 116th day of his inspiring “Nig2USA on a Bicycle” journey, Nigerian cyclist Emmiwuks received an overwhelming display of love and support at the Nigerian Embassy in Bissau. Documenting his adventure on social media under the handle @real-emmiwuks, Emmiwuks shared a heartfelt account of his visit, highlighting the warm reception that has fueled his mission to promote Nigerian pride across borders.
Emmiwuks described his encounter at the embassy as “nothing short of overwhelming, in the most beautiful way.” He was greeted not just as a traveler, but as a “true son of Nigeria” by the Ambassador (head of mission) and the entire embassy team. Their warm smiles, kind words, and heartfelt prayers reinforced the popular Nigerian saying, “Naija no dey carry last,” reflecting the nation’s resilient spirit.
The cyclist expressed deep gratitude for the hospitality, humility, and belief in his mission, which he says gave him the strength to continue pushing forward. A standout moment came when he met Madam Barbara, the Head of Administration, whom he affectionately called “another mother” in Guinea-Bissau. Her energy, love, and kindness left a lasting impression, as she pledged to support him with prayers and encouragement until he reaches the USA.
In a separate post, Emmiwuks extended special appreciation to Madam Mercy, whose grace and efforts made the visit possible. He described her as a “true mother figure” standing by his vision. The embassy’s collective support, he noted, showcased the Nigerian spirit as “alive, strong, and full of love” beyond borders.
Emmiwuks’ journey, which began as a physical challenge, has evolved into a testament to human connection. “I’m grateful, I’m inspired, and I’m reminded again that this journey is more than cycling—it’s about the people God places on your path,” he wrote. With the rallying cry “Together we ride. Together we rise. VIVA AFRICA,” he continues to inspire followers worldwide.
As the journey progresses, Emmiwuks remains determined, with the embassy’s blessings and prayers echoing in his heart. The Nigerian community in Bissau and beyond has proven that distance is no barrier to support, making this a milestone moment in his epic ride from Nigeria to the USA.
