Four Missing as Armed Fulani Attack Hits Kyaribo Village

Fresh reports from Guma indicate that Kyaribo village in Mbaabur Mbalagh, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, has come under heavy attack by armed Fulani militia who have been terrorising the state freely.

According to information shared by Comr. Joseph Joo on his official Facebook page, the attack occurred late in the night, leaving residents in fear and confusion. He revealed that at least four persons are currently missing following the invasion. The individuals have been identified as Nongu, Chor Nyam, Joe Shom, and Amos Bai.

Comr. Joo, quoting accounts from nearby residents including John and Christopher Agbeke, whose community shares a boundary with Kyaribo, stated that the situation remains unclear, with the actual number of casualties still sketchy as of the time of reporting. He further disclosed that a woman who was reportedly assaulted during the attack managed to escape and is now in Ikpakenna, where she is recounting her ordeal.

The attack reportedly took place on Friday, April 10, 2026, in Ikobi community. Mr. Anyebe Shaibu was said to have been killed during the incident, which occurred in the late morning hours between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Eyewitness accounts from the community indicate that the assailants were suspected armed herders, though full details surrounding the attack remain unclear at this time. The motive behind the attack has not been officially confirmed.

People have expressed shock and concern over the killing, describing it as another painful reminder of the insecurity affecting rural settlements.
