Lobi Stars Football Club kicked off their pre-season preparations with a convincing 2-0 win against Gidado F.A. in a thrilling friendly encounter held at the Kwara Township Stadium in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Makurdi-based side dominated the match, with Emmanuel Ofem and Gabriel Jeremiah finding the net in each half to seal the victory. Ofem broke the deadlock in the 29th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error to slot home a beautifully taken goal. Lobi Stars maintained their lead into halftime, with Gidado F.A. struggling to breach their solid defense.
After the break, the visitors intensified their efforts, and their persistence paid off when Gabriel Jeremiah doubled the lead, sparking jubilant celebrations among the Lobi Stars bench. Despite Gidado F.A.’s valiant attempts to reduce the deficit, Lobi Stars’ defense held firm, ensuring a 2-0 victory.
