Lobi Stars Football Club demonstrated their community spirit on Friday evening, visiting the Tivid Orphanage Home in North Bank, Makurdi, after their training session. The visit aimed to connect with and support the children as part of the club’s ongoing outreach efforts ahead of the new football season starting November 8.
Technical Adviser Coach Abubakar Bala addressed the children, seeking their blessings and prayers for the upcoming season. He assured the team’s continued commitment to identifying with the home in the future. Captain Solomon Kwambe echoed this sentiment, noting that while their donation might be modest, it came from a sincere heart, hoping to bring comfort and relief to the children.
The team donated essential items including foodstuffs, clothing, toiletries, and a monetary gift, which was met with heartfelt prayers from the children for the team’s success. Representing the management, Team Manager Lawrence Adoga conveyed the goodwill of the Board and Management, led by Chairman Dr. Philip Nongu, commending the technical crew, staff, and players for their compassion and reaffirmation of the club’s community service commitment.
The Founder and Executive Director of Tivid Orphanage Home, Mrs. Favour Ada Paul, expressed profound appreciation, describing Lobi Stars as a “celebrated and inspiring club.” She prayed for their success, strength, and victory, and promised to mount a Lobi Stars banner at the orphanage entrance in honor of the club. Highlights included the presentation of branded Lobi Stars T-shirts to the children and an award of a Certificate of Appreciation to the club, with players joyfully interacting with the children, showcasing football’s true beauty in giving back.
