He urged the contractor to adhere strictly to agreed timelines and maintain high contract standards to guarantee timely completion and quality delivery.

The Federal Controller of Works in Benue, Mukaila Danladi, explained that progress on the road had faced delays due to several factors, including the suspension of mining activities in the area, which forced the sourcing of construction materials from Ebonyi State. He also cited security challenges and equipment breakdowns as additional setbacks that slowed down operations.

Former COREN Chairman, Ukeyima Manager, described the road project as a major intervention for the region and commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the contract, noting its potential to transform connectivity and economic prospects in the northern part of Benue State.

The Katsina-Ala–Takum highway, a critical link in the North-Central region, has long suffered from poor condition, contributing to insecurity, delayed transportation of farm produce, and limited economic integration. Stakeholders expect the upgrade to enhance mobility, reduce travel time, facilitate agricultural trade, and improve overall safety for commuters and residents along the route.
