Katsina-Ala Legislative House Passes Bill of Remembrance to Honor Fallen Hero ASP Danlami Usman

The Katsina-Ala Legislative House has unanimously passed a Bill of Remembrance to honor the late Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Danlami Usman, popularly known as Dan Zulu. The bill renames a major street in Katsina-Ala township after the gallant officer, who lost his life on September 19, 2025, during an attack by Fulani bandits at Agu Center, Mbatyula/Mberev Council Ward in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area (LGA).

ASP Danlami Usman was celebrated for his courageous efforts in restoring peace in Katsina-Ala LGA and the broader Sankera axis. The motion for the bill was moved by Hon. Chai Aondover, Councillor representing Ikurav Tiev II Council Ward, and seconded by Hon. Deayongo Clement of Mbayongo Council Ward. It received further support from Hon. Typopav Aondonna of Ikurav Tiev I Ward. The House, led by Hon. Tiza Benjamin, validated the motion and passed it into law, recognizing Usman as a hero who paid the ultimate price for peace.

The renamed street, stretching between NKST Central Church and the Fish Market, will now be officially known as Dan Zulu Street. The House also resolved that the street be properly maintained and kept clean as a mark of respect for the fallen hero.

The Executive Chairman of Katsina-Ala LGA, Hon. Dr. Shaku Justine, commended the Honourable Members for recognizing ASP Danlami Usman’s sacrifice. He directed the official renaming of the street and praised the officer’s dedication to peace in the region. Additionally, the House moved another motion, led by Hon. Adamu Msugh Emmanuel of Township Ward and seconded by Hon. Tyungu Thomas, to commend Dr. Shaku Justine for his tireless efforts in restoring peace within Katsina-Ala.

The bill’s passage reflects the community’s gratitude and the legislative body’s commitment to honoring its heroes. The motion was duly ruled upon by Hon. Tiza Benjamin, ensuring its legal standing. Nenda Felix, Personal Assistant to the Executive Chairman and Council on Media and Publicity, highlighted the significance of this tribute in fostering unity and remembrance.

This resolution stands as a lasting legacy for ASP Danlami Usman and a call to continue the pursuit of peace in the region.
