In a move that has left many Benue citizens stunned and angry, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has reportedly demoted Hon. Krayzeetee Atu Terver from Principal Special Assistant (PSA) to the lower rank of Personal Assistant (PA) after the young appointee served faithfully for ten months without collecting a single kobo in salary, furniture allowance, first-28-days allowance, or any other entitlement.
The most painful twist, according to sources close to the matter, is that Hon. Atu resigned from a well-paying job with Air Peace Airlines to accept Governor Alia’s appointment because he believed in the governor’s vision and wanted to serve his state. For ten months he worked without an official vehicle, funded his movements from his own pocket, and never complained publicly.
Now, instead of clearing the backlog of his earned salaries (said to be worth ₦3.7 million at the approved PSA rate of ₦370,000 per month), the governor has quietly changed Atu’s designation to Personal Assistant, a position that carries only ₦120,000 monthly. If the new designation is backdated, the total payment for the ten months would shrink to just ₦1.2 million, effectively wiping out more than ₦2.5 million legitimately owed to him.
Social media is on fire tonight. Many are asking the same bitter questions: Is this how to treat someone who left everything to answer the call of service? Is this the reward for loyalty and sacrifice? After shouting “Yes Father!” for so long, some say it is time to ask “Why Father?”
As of the time of publishing this report, neither the Governor’s office nor Hon. Atu has issued an official statement, but the story is spreading fast across Benue and beyond, with many describing the development as unfair, wicked, and a dangerous signal to other young people considering political appointee roles.
When public service begins to look like punishment for patriotism, something is deeply broken.
We will keep following this story and update our readers as soon as more details emerge. For now, one thing is clear: trust has been badly damaged tonight in the Benue Government House.
