The Executive Secretary of the Bureau for Mines and Solid Minerals, Hon. Stephen Aondona Uta, visited Jato-Aka on Saturday, October 4, 2025, to oversee a free medical outreach he sponsored for the people of Turan in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. Addressing patients and the welcoming crowd, Hon. Uta emphasized that the outreach was a fulfillment of his promise to God to give back to society if blessed.
Urging the people of Turan to take advantage of the outreach, Hon. Uta encouraged them to seek treatment, assuring that those with severe cases would be referred to tertiary medical facilities for further care. He also donated hospital beds to enable patients to stay comfortably and announced an extension of the medical outreach for one additional day to accommodate more people.
Hon. Uta commended the medical team, led by Dr. Thaddeus Aende, for their resilience and professionalism, charging them to continue working in the best interest of the community. Receiving the items on behalf of the health facility, the Officer in Charge of Primary Health Care Jato-Aka, Mrs. Nguvveren Kose, described the gesture as uncommon, noting that it marked the first time the community had received such relief. She called on the people to pray for the benefactor for more blessings.
This initiative highlights a significant step toward improving healthcare access in the region, reflecting a commitment to community well-being.
