In the early hours of Wednesday, December 18, 2025, gunmen abducted two residents—Mr. Kpishi Terhile and Madam Demetindi Nongo—from the residence of Teacher Jerry Ugba in Ugba, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State. The incident took place around 1:00 a.m., in a compound located near the General Hospital, sending shockwaves through the quiet community.
Eyewitnesses and community sources reported that the abduction was carried out calmly and without any exchange of gunfire or violence, following a pattern that has become distressingly familiar in the area. The gunmen reportedly arrived, whisked the victims away, and vanished into the night, leaving residents alarmed but unharmed otherwise.
Authorities have been notified, and security agencies are said to be investigating the matter, though no official statement has been released as of now. Residents and family members of the abducted individuals are anxiously awaiting further information, with hopes that more details will emerge soon to aid in their safe recovery.
This latest kidnapping adds to growing concerns over insecurity in parts of Logo LGA and Benue State at large, where abductions for ransom have intermittently disrupted lives and heightened fear among locals. Community leaders continue to call for strengthened security measures to curb such incidents and protect vulnerable areas like Ugba.
As the situation develops, the thoughts of many remain with the families of Mr. Terhile and Madam Nongo, praying for their swift and safe return.
