Guma Executive Chairman Hon. Maurice Assesses Damage on Collapsed Oigbo-Imande-Gbajimba Road

The Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Council, Hon. Maurice Orwough, visited the Iye community earlier today to assess the damage caused by the collapse of a culvert on the Oigbo-Imande-Gbajimba Road. The incident, which occurred yesterday, has raised concerns about the state of infrastructure in the region.

The road, reportedly constructed during the administration of former Benue State Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, was said to have consumed billions of naira. During his visit, Hon. Orwough called for calm among residents of the affected communities, assuring them that he would bring the deplorable situation to the attention of the Benue State Governor for urgent intervention.

Expressing disappointment, Orwough criticized the former governor for what he described as a deliberate neglect of essential infrastructure, particularly the road leading to his hometown. “I believe Chief Ortom would be full of regrets at the moment,” he stated, highlighting the severity of the issue.
