Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has been nominated for a distinguished award by the Nigeria National League (NNL) board, alongside two other notable personalities, in recognition of his contributions to sports development in the country.
The nomination, which will be conferred during a ceremony in Abuja, underscores Benue State’s active role in the wider league of sports development in Nigeria. The event is also expected to celebrate outstanding players in the league and will bring together leading Nigerian football administrators, club officials, and enthusiasts.
According to a statement from Lobi Stars Football Club, Governor Alia’s nomination reflects the state’s commitment to not just watching the game but actively shaping it through the creation of an enabling environment for proper development in infrastructure, financing, and technical areas.
The club expressed pride in sharing the momentous occasion with its number one supporter and financier, noting that the national honour adds to Governor Alia’s growing list of recognitions for his support towards football in Benue State.
