Governor Alia’s Skills Acquisition Program Graduates Over 1,500 in Vandeikya

The administration of Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia marked a significant milestone today with the graduation of over 1,500 youths and women from the Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Program in Vandeikya Local Government Area. The event, held at Ihugh, showcased the government’s commitment to grassroots empowerment and sustainable development.

The graduation ceremony, attended by key dignitaries, highlighted the program’s success in training participants from Vandeikya and Konshisha. Chief Omale, speaking at the event, praised Governor Alia’s focus on grassroots empowerment, describing the initiative as a clear demonstration of the government’s dedication to its people. He urged beneficiaries to take their new skills seriously and seize the opportunity to become self-reliant.

Hon. Emmanuel Terungwa Iorbee, the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Protocol and Wardrobe, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to apply their skills to improve their lives and contribute to the state’s development. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the governor’s transformational agenda, noting that the program’s success reflects Alia’s love for the grassroots.

Other speakers, including Engr. Livinus Tsar and assembly members Hon. Matthew Damkor and Hon. Shimawua Emmanuel Terna, echoed the call for beneficiaries to embrace their skills as a tool to combat poverty. They also expressed gratitude to God and the governor for addressing the needs of the common man.

A passionate appeal was made to the people of Vandeikya and Konshisha to register for voter cards in preparation for the 2027 elections, emphasizing the importance of supporting Governor Alia for a second term to consolidate the gains already made. Hon. Nevkaa Jacob Tereng, the Principal Special Assistant on Youth and Students Affairs, encouraged the youth to obtain their PVCs, highlighting it as a major tool for electing good leaders.

The event underscored a united front among government officials and stakeholders in advancing Governor Alia’s vision of a better Benue through capacity building and economic self-reliance.
