Governor Alia Donates 3,000 Palm Stands to People with Disabilities

Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia made a significant gesture by donating 3,000 palm stands to people living with disabilities. The donation, facilitated through the office of Hon. Sir Alex Addingi, Special Adviser on International Investment, and Hon. George Tubaba Angwe, Senior Special Assistant on Special Abilities and Sign Language, took place late yesterday.

Hon. Alex Addingi, speaking at the event, praised the governor for creating a sense of belonging among people with disabilities and involving them in his administration. He encouraged them to make judicious use of the palm stands to foster development and progress in the state. Addingi highlighted Alia’s unwavering commitment and record-breaking gestures that distinguish him from past leaders, urging the community to embrace this developmental journey aimed at alleviating poverty and creating job opportunities for Benue youths.

Similarly, Hon. George Angwe described people with disabilities as “one close to God’s heart,” urging them to support the governor’s vision of building a Benue of their dreams free of obstacles. Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande, Chief Medical Director of Benue State Teaching Hospital, also contributed by ensuring the safe conveyance of palm stands and advising on wealth creation to strengthen the state’s economy.

Other notable attendees included Hon. Philip Achuah, Hon. Atetan, and many others, who joined in commending the governor’s efforts. This initiative underscores Alia’s dedication to inclusivity and support for all segments of society.
