Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has extended warm felicitations to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, OON, CON, wife of the President, on the occasion of her 65th birthday anniversary. The message, conveyed through a statement by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, highlights the First Lady’s inspiring role and impactful contributions to Nigeria.
Governor Alia described Senator Tinubu as a source of inspiration and a pillar of hope and support for many Nigerians. He commended her dedication to youth and women’s empowerment through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a humanitarian program that complements President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda. The RHI is a nationwide initiative aimed at uplifting women, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), widows, and other vulnerable groups out of poverty, while also providing support for victims of attacks, a cause that has benefited many, including residents of Benue State.
The Governor also praised the First Lady’s significant donations to the National Cancer Fund, particularly her efforts to combat cervical cancer in Nigeria. He emphasized that the fight against cancer can only succeed with accessible medical interventions, underscoring her commendable efforts in this area.
Reflecting on her journey, Alia noted Tinubu’s demonstrated compassion and humanity, evident from her time as First Lady of Lagos State, her tenure as a Senator, and now as First Lady of Nigeria. He urged her to continue setting examples for women in leadership and governance, calling on her to remain a strong supporter and partner to the President as he works to make Nigeria a better place for all.
