Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia has commissioned a series of modern solar-powered bus stops across Makurdi, the Benue State capital, in a move aimed at improving commuter comfort and ending the discomfort of waiting under harsh sunlight or heavy rain.

The new bus shelters, equipped with solar panels, feature durable roofing, seating areas, and lighting systems that provide shade during the day and illumination at night. They are strategically located at major bus stops and junctions in the city, addressing long-standing complaints from residents about inadequate waiting facilities.
