A prominent Gboko-based businessman and politician, Hon. Sesugh Kaaba, has formally returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, declaring his full loyalty to Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Kaaba announced his defection on March 22, 2026, during a well-attended event in Yandev North Council Ward, Gboko Local Government Area. Speaking at the gathering, he cited Governor Alia’s “remarkable achievements” in infrastructure, education, and agriculture as the major factors that influenced his decision.
“I am in politics to serve my people, not for personal gain,” Kaaba stated, while urging residents of Yandev to support his political aspirations and the broader development agenda of the APC-led administration.
Receiving the returnee, the APC State Chairman, Dr. Benjamin Omale, commended Kaaba for what he described as a bold and courageous move. He assured him of equal opportunities within the party and encouraged him to work towards the success of the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Other party leaders present, including State Women Leader Mrs. Helen Pinen and Organising Secretary James Ornguga, described Kaaba as a committed grassroots mobiliser whose return would strengthen the party in Gboko East constituency.
The highlight of the event was Kaaba’s formal induction into the APC, witnessed by party stakeholders and local government officials, who hailed the development as a significant boost for the party in the area.
Hon. Sesugh Kaaba’s return adds to the growing list of politicians realigning with the APC in Benue State, further consolidating support for Governor Alia’s administration as political activities intensify towards future elections.
