FUHSO VC Leads On-Site Inspection of Permanent Campus, Tasks Contractors on Quality and Timely Delivery

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), Professor Francis Aba Uba, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, personally led a detailed inspection tour of ongoing construction projects at the institution’s Permanent Site in Akwete Akpa, Benue State.

Accompanied by contractors, project supervisors, and key stakeholders, Professor Uba visited multiple sites where critical infrastructure works are at advanced stages. Known for his hands-on, workaholic leadership style, the Vice-Chancellor closely assessed progress, engaged directly with site teams, and reiterated the university’s firm stance on both quality and speed of execution.

During an earlier briefing session before the tour, Professor Uba charged the contractors to maintain uncompromising standards in all aspects of the work while strictly adhering to agreed timelines. He emphasized that the facilities being developed are not ordinary structures but foundational infrastructure meant to train the next generation of healthcare professionals for Nigeria and beyond.

“The university will not tolerate any compromise on quality. These buildings, laboratories, lecture halls, and other facilities must meet the highest international benchmarks because they will shape the competence and professionalism of future doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health workers,” he stated.

The inspection highlighted encouraging levels of advancement across several key projects, with visible structural work, roofing, and finishing activities underway in various sections of the permanent campus.

Stakeholders and contractors present at the event commended the visible momentum on site and reaffirmed their dedication to delivering the projects in full alignment with FUHHSO’s vision of becoming a world-class institution for health sciences education and research.
