Former Secretary to the Benue State Government, Engr. Prof. Joseph Alakali, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Alakali, who served as SSG under Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia during the early phase of the current administration, announced his resignation without providing further details on his future political plans.
He did not indicate whether he intends to join another political party or step away from active politics entirely. In his brief statement, Alakali simply cited “personal reasons” for the decision.
The development marks a significant shift within Benue’s political circles, coming from a key figure who played an important role in the early days of the Alia administration. As of now, neither Alakali nor the APC has issued additional comments on the resignation.
