Exciting developments are underway at the Father Adasu University Faculty of Engineering in Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. Construction of various structures is progressing swiftly, with contractors working diligently to meet specifications and timelines, as confirmed by project consultant Architect Gideon Agber.
The project has received strong support from top government officials, including the Commissioners of Education and Knowledge Management, Dr. Margaret Adamu, and Land, Survey and Solid Minerals, Rev. Dr. Frederick Ikyaan. Recently, they were joined by the Surveyor General and other directors from various ministries to assess the construction progress, survey the land, and ensure its security against encroachment.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Simon Ubwa, accompanied by the registrar and other officers, expressed gratitude to Governor Alia for extending the Fr. Adasu University campus to Kwande. Prof. Ubwa described the move as a “giant stride of bringing education to all nooks and crannies of Benue State.” The Adikpo campus will house the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, and Faculty of Technology and Industrial Studies, with preparations fully underway to commence academic activities.
Ter Kwande, HRH Engr. Timothy Ahile, also commended Governor Alia for selecting Kwande as the location for the new faculty, expressing optimism that it will grow into a standalone university in the future. Meanwhile, during a press briefing, Mazi Ezenwa Onyirimba of Kew Power Engineering Company Ltd assured that all contractors, under the guidance of Architect Gideon Agber, are committed to delivering the projects on time and according to specifications.
