The Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi, Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, has attracted international support to the facility to boost healthcare delivery in the state.
The support came in the form of critical medical supplies donated by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) – Holland, Nigeria Limited by Guarantee. The intervention is expected to strengthen service delivery and enhance patient care at the hospital, a major referral centre in Benue.
The development is the latest in a series of strategic engagements under Dr Hwande’s leadership, which has seen the hospital benefit from partnerships with global health organisations. Industry observers say the CMD has continued to leverage international collaboration to improve infrastructure and clinical outcomes at BSUTH.
Dr Hwande’s leadership profile, anchored on service delivery and global engagement, is seen by supporters as reflective of his broader public service outlook, amid indications of his interest in representing Benue North-West (Zone B) in the Senate.
