In the true spirit of Christmas, Dr. Philip Tyokuu Philip, the incoming member of the House of Representatives for Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency in Benue State, joined his wife, Mrs. Doosuur Erica Philip, to celebrate the season with constituents through a large-scale outreach program on Christmas evening, December 25, 2025.
The couple distributed hundreds of bags of rice, wrappers, and cash gifts across all 21 council wards of the constituency, an initiative designed to ease economic burdens during the festive period and bring joy to families facing hardship. The exercise embodied the core Christmas values of love, sharing, and goodwill, reaching households in both Makurdi and Guma local government areas.
To ensure transparency and efficiency, all 21 APC council ward chairmen were present to supervise the distribution process, guaranteeing that the palliatives reached intended beneficiaries without hitches.
Dr. Tyokuu and his wife extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the people of Makurdi/Guma, praying for a celebration filled with joy and a New Year brimming with peace, progress, and prosperity. The gesture has been widely praised as a demonstration of compassionate leadership and commitment to constituent welfare ahead of Dr. Tyokuu’s formal assumption of office in the National Assembly.
