Residents of Mbaakura in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State have publicly expressed strong dissatisfaction with the local government chairman, Raymond Zege Aondoakura, over the non-completion of key community infrastructure projects.
In a statement circulating on social media, community members accused the chairman of collecting funds for the Ajiiji mini bridge and Ulafia culvert since 2025 but allegedly sharing the money with a few individuals, leaving thousands of residents to suffer the consequences of the unfinished works. They demanded that the chairman immediately construct the bridge and stop what they described as fake promises, paper projects and audio projects that fail to deliver visible results on the ground.
The residents further challenged the chairman to publicly admit if the funds had been misused, insisting that the continued delay is hindering development and causing hardship to the people.
The complaint tagged several public figures, including Engr. Prof. Terlumun Joseph Utsev, Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia and other community leaders and groups, calling on them to intervene and rescue the affected residents.
