On September 8, 2025, Nicodemus Iorcher, a newly appointed teacher with the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), began his duties at LGEA Primary School Tse-Ikyor in Guma Local Government Area. To his surprise, only one pupil turned up on his first day—a young boy in uniform who sat alone as the sole learner.
