On December 25, 2025, the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), led by Executive Chairman Dr. Grace Adagba, released a heartfelt Christmas message extending warm greetings to Governor Hyacinth Alia, titled “The Asor Tar U Tiv, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia,” Deputy Governor Barr. Sam Ode, and members of the Benue State Executive Council. The message reflects gratitude for the governor’s remarkable support toward basic education, highlighting key achievements that have revitalized the sector.

The statement praises Alia’s visionary leadership for implementing a N75,000 minimum wage for teachers, introducing an e-payment system to ensure prompt salary disbursements, and recruiting over 9,000 new teachers. These measures, according to SUBEB, have significantly uplifted teacher welfare, boosted morale, and enhanced the overall quality of education for learners across the state. Additionally, the board commended the construction of modern storey classroom blocks and the renovation of over 500 primary schools, providing safe, contemporary learning environments equipped with ICT centres to expose pupils early to digital tools and skills.

The message extends appreciation to teachers for their resilience and dedication in shaping future leaders, to staff for ensuring smooth operations, and to learners as the core focus of all efforts, wishing them inspiration to excel academically.
