Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo Resumes Academic Activities After Festive Break

Academic activities have fully resumed at Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, following the Christmas and New Year break, with lectures now underway in earnest across various departments.

According to a statement issued by the institution’s management, although the official resumption date was Monday, January 5, 2026, there were minor delays before full academic operations commenced. By January 12, however, lectures had begun in full swing, signaling a smooth return to normalcy for students and staff.

The polytechnic authorities emphasized that there would be no extension of the current semester despite the slight postponement in full resumption. They assured the campus community that the academic calendar remains unchanged and that all scheduled activities, including lectures, examinations, and other academic engagements, will proceed as originally planned.

The confirmation was contained in an official statement signed by the institution’s Media Director, Mr. JT Nogogami, who reiterated the polytechnic’s commitment to maintaining academic standards and ensuring timely completion of the semester.

Students returning to campus expressed relief at the resumption, with many noting that the brief delay allowed for adequate rest and family time during the festive period. Management also urged students to adhere strictly to the school’s rules and regulations as they settle back into academic routines.

Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo remains one of the key tertiary institutions in the state, offering a range of National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes in engineering, sciences, business, and other technical fields. The successful resumption is expected to restore momentum to teaching, learning, and campus life after the holiday interlude.
