The Benue State Government has officially declared Friday, January 10, 2025, as a public holiday to commemorate the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. This announcement was made in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Joseph Alakali, emphasizing the government’s commitment to honoring the sacrifices of fallen heroes and serving military personnel.

The public holiday will allow residents to participate in the remembrance activities scheduled for the day, including a special ceremony at the IBB Square in Makurdi. Governor Hyacinth Alia is expected to lead the state in laying wreaths and offering prayers to pay tribute to the nation’s armed forces.
