In a promising sign of infrastructural renewal in Benue State, the Managing Director of Gerewa Construction Company Limited, Engr. Peter Ashiekaa, conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing remodeling at the Benue State House of Assembly Complex on Friday, November 7, 2025. The visit underscores a concerted push to upgrade legislative facilities and create a more efficient environment for lawmakers and staff.
Accompanied by Hon. Elijah Ikyomke, Engr. Ashiekaa expressed strong satisfaction with the project’s pace. “We are fully dedicated to delivering a quality job that will stand the test of time; our team is working round the clock to ensure that this project is completed as soon as possible and handed over to the Assembly for use,” he stated during the tour. The remodeling, handled entirely by Gerewa Construction, aims to modernize the aging complex, incorporating higher construction standards to enhance durability and functionality.
Several assembly members joined the inspection, including Hon. Simon Gabo, Rt. Hon. Cephas Idyako, and Hon. Abraham Jabi. They commended the contractor’s efforts so far and urged sustained momentum for immediate completion. “The level of work done is impressive, and we call on the team to keep up this energy,” one of the lawmakers remarked.
This initiative forms part of broader upgrades under Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s administration, focused on fostering a conducive space for legislative activities and boosting governance efficiency in the state. As Benue continues to invest in its public infrastructure, projects like this signal a commitment to long-term development and better service delivery for citizens. Stay tuned for updates as the complex nears handover.
