All Progressives Congress (APC) Benue State 2027 Governorship aspirant, Honorable Terwase Orbunde, has said Senator George Akume remains the determinant factor for the governor of Benue State come 2027.
He spoke at separate occasions on Friday, 10th April, 2026 while soliciting the support of APC stakeholders from Makurdi and Guma at the residence of Chief Akange Audu in Makurdi, as well as Gwer and Gwer West at Benysta Hotel, Aliade.
The former Chief of Staff to the Governor of Benue State stated that Senator Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has been his political leader since the build up to the 1999 General Election when he served as the Acting Director General of his Governorship Campaign which he successfully executed.

He stated that he would ensure the protection of lives and property, rule of law, functional education, science and technology as development tool, and a fair reward system, in Benue State, if given the mandate, stressing that these global best practices make development imperative.
In separate remarks, Alhaji Jibril Mamadu, Dr Mathew Mnyam, Dr Mrs Margaret Bija and Chief Akange Audu, Chief Mike Iordye, who spoke for Makurdi and Guma as well as John Akange, Evaristus Gema, Mrs Erdoo Chewe and ACG Peter Pevigo, retired, for Gwer and Gwer West pledged their support.
