Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has sworn in Mrs. Franca Yuwa as a Judge of the Benue State High Court, using the occasion to reiterate his administration’s unwavering support for a strong, independent, and accountable judiciary.

The swearing-in ceremony took place earlier today at the Government House in Makurdi. In his address, Governor Alia emphasized that his government remains fully committed to upholding judicial independence, accountability, and integrity across the state.

Describing Justice Yuwa’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of merit, the Governor highlighted her impressive career progression within the judicial system. He traced her journey from Magistrate Grade II, through Chief Magistrate, to her previous role as Registrar of the High Court. According to the Governor, this elevation serves as an inspiring message to young lawyers—especially women—that dedication, hard work, and excellence will always be rewarded in the judiciary.
