Several residents of Kwande Local Government Area in Benue State who sustained injuries during a reported herdsmen attack on Wednesday are currently receiving medical attention, according to community updates shared on social media.

A post by local elder D’nkaded Elder Sughnen Yaaya presented images showing some of the casualties—men, women, and children—lying on hospital beds or makeshift treatment areas in what appears to be a local health facility or community clinic. The injured individuals were depicted receiving treatment, including wound dressing and intravenous fluids, amid visible signs of distress and limited medical resources.

The elder confirmed that all those pictured were under medical care following the violent incident, which reportedly targeted communities in the area. While specific details on the number of casualties, fatalities (if any), or the precise location within Kwande were not provided in the update, the post emphasized that medical teams were attending to the victims.

The attack adds to the long-running pattern of insecurity in parts of Benue State, particularly in rural farming communities where clashes between herders and farmers have frequently resulted in loss of lives, displacement, and destruction of property. Kwande, located in the southern senatorial zone, has experienced recurring episodes of such violence in recent years, often linked to disputes over land, grazing routes, and resources.
