Dr. Hwande Congratulates New Speaker of Benue Assembly

The Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, has extended his congratulations to Hon. Alfred Emerga Berger on his emergence as the new Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly. The announcement was made on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

In a goodwill message, Dr. Hwande described Hon. Berger’s appointment as a divine ordination by God, urging him to bring wisdom, inclusiveness, and commitment to his legislative duties for the overall development of Benue State. He expressed optimism that the new Speaker would uphold democratic principles, strengthen legislative independence, and work harmoniously with other arms of government to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

Dr. Hwande also commended the immediate past Speaker for his exemplary leadership, especially for choosing peace over personal ambition in his decision to step aside respectfully. He highlighted this peaceful resignation as a demonstration of maturity, statesmanship, and a deep commitment to the unity and progress of Benue State above individual interests.

The CMD prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom upon Hon. Berger and urged both the legislature and executive to work in synergy for the prosperity, peace, and stability of the state. The message was signed by Tsenzungul Moses F., the Head of Public Relations & Protocol at BSUTH.
