Makurdi woke up to pure pepper-soup drama today as a married woman reportedly turned a saloon parking lot into a movie scene by setting her husband’s girlfriend’s car on fire.
According to eyewitness accounts circulating widely on social media, the side chick had parked her ride outside a popular salon in town, stepped inside to fix her hair, and left the vehicle unattended. Moments later, the legal wife pulled up in her own car carrying a jerrycan that onlookers assumed contained water.
Without warning, she allegedly doused the parked car with petrol, struck a match, and watched the flames climb before calmly jumping back into her vehicle and speeding off, leaving behind a crowd too shocked to react quickly.
The car, said to have been bought for the girlfriend by the husband himself, was completely gutted before neighbours and passers-by could fetch water to put out the fire.
In a twist that has tongues wagging even harder, the side chick reportedly ran straight to the nearest police station to file a complaint immediately after the incident, demanding justice for her burnt property.
Social media is having a field day. While some are hailing the wife as a “national heroine” and offering her free legal defense, others are questioning the girlfriend’s audacity to report a case involving a car allegedly bought with “stolen mandate” money from another woman’s husband.
As at press time, neither the wife nor the husband has been located for comment, and the police are yet to issue an official statement. But one thing is clear: Makurdi people now have premium entertainment for the entire Christmas season.
Men are advised to drive their girlfriends in Danfo this December. Safety first.
