The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Guma Local Government Area convened a high-powered caucus meeting today, bringing together key stakeholders to deliberate on party affairs and chart strategies for strengthening its structure at the grassroots level. The gathering underscored a unified resolve to maintain the APC as the dominant and preferred political force in the area.
Leading the discussions were prominent figures, including the Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Council, Hon. Maurice Orwough; Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperatives, Dr. Yanmar Ortese; Guma Local Government Point Man and Chief Medical Director, Dr. Stephen Hwande; Executive Secretary of the Benue Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board, Dr. Terna Francis; and Guma Gubernatorial Liaison Officer, Hon. Simon Unongo. Also in attendance were Deputy Chairman of Guma, Hon. Tersoo Ezra Veem; Executive Secretary for Science and Technology, Engr. Samuel Kwende; former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. David Iorhemba; Elder Andy Uwouku; Hon. Dennis Umbur; Elder Richard Asema; Hon. Cosmas Unande; Hon. Upaa Michael Zape; and several others.
The meeting focused sharply on unity, effective coordination, and sustained support for the administration of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia. Speakers emphasized harmony and collective responsibility in prioritizing the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia at the local government level. “Our strength lies in our unity of purpose,” one stakeholder remarked, rallying members to close ranks and ensure the APC remains the people’s choice in Guma.
As local government elections and broader political contours take shape, today’s caucus signals a proactive APC determined to consolidate gains, deepen grassroots engagement, and deliver on its promises under Governor Alia’s leadership. The party’s cohesion in Guma could set the tone for its performance across Benue State in the coming political season.
