The Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, FNSE, has made a passionate appeal to the people of Benue State and eligible Nigerians to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking on the critical importance of civic engagement, Prof. Utsev described voter registration as a fundamental duty and the only legitimate means through which citizens can exercise their right to choose leaders and contribute to national development. He emphasized that widespread participation is key to ensuring the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration, he said, is already implementing transformative policies that are improving lives and steering Nigeria toward greatness.
The Minister placed special emphasis on women and youths, urging them to visit registration centers in their localities without delay. He also advised those who have misplaced their voter’s cards or wish to transfer their polling units closer to their villages to seek assistance at the nearest INEC offices.
Prof. Utsev further called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, and opinion leaders to mobilize their communities and encourage mass participation in the INEC initiative. “This is an opportunity we cannot afford to miss,” he stressed.
Individuals who have registered but are yet to collect their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) were also urged to do so immediately to avoid disenfranchisement.
The statement was issued by Terhemen Oraduen, Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Honourable Minister, on October 29, 2025.
As Nigeria prepares for future elections, Prof. Utsev’s call serves as a timely reminder of the power of the ballot in shaping the nation’s destiny. Eligible citizens are encouraged to act now—register, collect your PVC, and be part of the change.
