Violence Erupts in Makurdi as Cult Clash Intensifies

Tensions in Makurdi, Benue State, escalated yesterday when a squad believed to be members of the DNKI (Vikings) cult clashed with their rivals, Aye, in the North Bank area. The confrontation, which took place near the NBM Bank, left one person shot but fortunately surviving the attack.

The incident has reignited anger among the Vikings, who are still reeling from the recent killing and subsequent beheading of their senior member, Yas B, allegedly by Aye. Naija Confra, a local news outlet, has obtained video evidence of the beheading but has chosen not to release it, citing the sensitivity of the incident, unless it becomes necessary for future reference.

Local reports suggest that the violence may not be over, with indications of potential further clashes between tonight (Friday) and Sunday night. Residents and security operatives have been strongly advised to remain alert and vigilant during this period.
