A vehicle accident on Uni-Agric road in North-Bank, Makurdi, has claimed lives and left others injured, with reports linking the incident to a minor construction project that has remained unfinished for about five months.
The crash occurred today between the first and second gates of the Federal Housing Estate Authority (FHEA) area. According to an eyewitness account shared by Benue News, the prolonged unfinished works on the road created hazardous conditions that resulted in the fatal incident, serious injuries and significant vehicle damage.
Photographs from the scene show a dark-coloured vehicle overturned in a deep excavation beside the road, with a large crowd of onlookers gathered around the site. Reddish water is visible in an adjacent concrete drainage structure, while emergency responders and residents can be seen assessing the aftermath.
The incident has drawn attention to the dangers posed by incomplete road projects in the area, with residents expressing concern over the safety of the stretch of road that has remained in a state of disrepair for months.
