North Central Security Summit: Governor Alia to Host President, Governors and Service Chiefs in Benue

The Coalition of Social Media Activists and Advocates for Good Governance and Accountability has expressed appreciation to the Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for agreeing to host the North Central Regional Security Summit in the state.

The summit, scheduled to hold tomorrow at the New Banquet Hall of Government House, will bring together President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, governors from across the North Central region, Service Chiefs and other key stakeholders. The gathering is aimed at collectively discussing the security challenges confronting the region and exploring practical solutions towards restoring lasting peace and stability.

The coalition called on all stakeholders, particularly traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organisations, community leaders and other critical stakeholders, to make themselves available and participate actively in the event. It noted that the summit will provide an important opportunity for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, alongside the nation’s Service Chiefs, to engage directly with stakeholders and address the security challenges facing the North Central region.

Describing the event as more than a summit, the coalition said it represents a collective call for peace, security and the protection of lives and property across North Central Nigeria. It once again commended Governor Alia for providing Benue State as the host of the important regional conversation and urged all to stand for peace, security and a safer North Central.
