Galleria Park Makurdi Set to Open in December 2026, Says BIPC Managing Director

The Group Managing Director of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, has announced that the Galleria Park in Makurdi will commence operations in December 2026.

Asemakaha made the disclosure on Friday during an inspection of the ongoing construction work at the amusement park. He stated that the completed project would provide residents and visitors to Benue State with a modern recreational facility designed to promote relaxation, entertainment and family bonding.

According to him, the park will feature a serene environment, a waterfall and a 1,000-capacity event centre suitable for weddings, marriages, conferences and other social gatherings. It will also serve as an avenue for families to relax during holidays while enjoying a range of products produced by BIPC companies.

Asemakaha commended the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for creating an enabling environment that has allowed BIPC to revive dormant assets belonging to the state. He said the company would continue to serve as a special purpose vehicle and engine for driving economic growth, investment and development across Benue.

The GMD disclosed that the park is expected to create more than 100 direct jobs and over five hundred indirect employment opportunities for youths in the state when fully operational. He urged Benue youths to acquire skills in construction and other technical fields, citing the Korean workers handling the project as an example of the opportunities available through skills development.

Asemakaha further charged the artisans working on the project to intensify efforts and increase the pace of construction in order to meet the December 2026 completion deadline. In response, the leader of the Korean builders, Kilm Kim Ann, assured BIPC management that the project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The Galleria Park is expected to add to Makurdi’s recreational and hospitality offerings while contributing to employment generation and economic activity in the state.
