Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have cleared an illegal kidnapping roadblock along the Jortaar–Atume road in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The operation took place on August 19, 2026. During the encounter, one suspected gunman, identified by the nickname “Cool Nigga,” was killed in a gunfight. Two other suspects were arrested in connection with an alleged kidnapping plot.
Security personnel recovered a pistol, cartridge, phones, an ATM card, ID, SIM cards, charms and an abandoned motorcycle from the scene.
The successful clearance of the illegal roadblock has been welcomed as part of ongoing efforts by security forces to keep communities in Benue State safe.
