Man Attacked Outside Benue Internal Revenue Service Office in Makurdi

A man has reported an attack on his life while leaving the Benue Internal Revenue Service office in Makurdi. According to a statement shared on social media, the incident occurred between 7:30pm and 8:00pm as he drove out of the gate of the office.

The account states that shortly after exiting the premises, near a neem tree by the gate, an unknown person approached the driver’s side of the vehicle as it slowed to navigate a damaged section of the road.

The assailant, described as wearing blue jeans and a hooded black top with white stripes, struck the car door window and windscreen repeatedly with a large hammer, smashing both. The hammer fell into the vehicle as the occupants struggled to exit, after which the attacker fled in the direction of Novus Microfinance Bank.

The individual said he was travelling with his aide, Isaiah Akor, and his cousin, Dekaa Tarza. He described the incident as one in a series of physical and spiritual attacks directed at him while carrying out his normal duties, insisting that he was not standing in anyone’s way. He has informed his family of the situation and expressed gratitude for surviving the attack while calling for divine protection.
