Tinubu Holds Closed-Door Meeting with Gov. Alia, Suswam Amid Benue APC Crisis

President Bola Tinubu on Monday held a closed-door meeting with Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia and former Governor Gabriel Suswam at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting comes as the Benue chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to grapple with internal disputes, particularly over the party’s Benue Central senatorial ticket and overall leadership structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Details of the discussions at the Presidential Villa were not disclosed as of the time of filing this report. Neither the Presidency nor the participants have issued an official statement on the purpose or outcome of the meeting.

Political observers have linked the closed-door session to ongoing efforts to manage divisions within the Benue APC, especially between supporters of Governor Alia and those aligned with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
