New information has surfaced explaining the circumstances that led to the attack on the Executive Chairman of Konshisha Local Government Area by angry youths.
According to accounts circulating on social media, the incident started when the former Deputy Caretaker Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Terhemen Dzôhô, who was with the current chairman, acted aggressively towards a priest whose car had broken down and partially blocked the road. The group was returning from a burial.
The chairman reportedly showed little sympathy for the priest and church members and instead demanded they push the broken-down vehicle to clear the road for him to pass. This led to an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the chairman and the former deputy caretaker chairman allegedly slapped the priest.
The slap and the chairman’s alleged “I don’t care” attitude reportedly infuriated the youths in the area, sparking the chase and stone-throwing attack on the chairman’s vehicle as he fled the scene.
The post also recalled that Hon. Terhemen Dzôhô had previously been involved in controversies, including insulting Bishop Anagba and Governor Ortom during the 2023 electioneering period.
