A controversial Facebook post by media personality Asom D Jerry has sparked intense online discussion after alleging that Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia impregnated Carolyn Udzer, daughter of former Commissioner Udzer from Mbadede, while serving as a young priest, resulting in the birth of a son.
In the post shared via Lifeissues Maga blog page, Jerry wrote: “H@TE ME, BUT DON’T IGNORE THE MESSAGE.” He claimed that one of Carolyn’s daughters, Sophie Bunde, currently serves as a confidential assistant in the Governor’s office, while Carolyn herself works at the Benue Education Quality Assurance agency. He further alleged that the son from the relationship is involved in handling renovations at the Benue State Teaching Service Board (TSB) in Makurdi.
Jerry accused Governor Alia of turning Benue State into a “settlement package” for his multiple children and alleged mistresses, claiming that state resources and contracts are allegedly being used to benefit family members. He specifically suggested that foreign contractors handling the TSB renovation serve as a cover, with the real beneficiary being Carolyn’s son.
These explosive allegations have drawn mixed reactions online, with some users demanding clarification or investigation, while others view them as part of ongoing political attacks against the governor’s administration.
As of now, there has been no official response from Governor Alia or the Benue State Government to these claims. The post has reignited public debate about accountability, morality in leadership, and the intersection of personal life with public office in the state.
