In a significant move towards party unity, Otor Augustine Ube has formally announced his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary contest for the Benue State House of Assembly seat in Obi State Constituency.
In his withdrawal statement dated May 20, 2026, Ube stated that the decision was taken in the overall interest of party unity, progress, and the greater good of the constituency. After extensive consultations with supporters, political associates, elders, and stakeholders, he resolved to step down in support of Hon. Moses Egbodo.
Ube heartily congratulated Hon. Moses Egbodo and pledged his unwavering support and commitment towards ensuring his success in the forthcoming election. He expressed sincere appreciation to his supporters, well-wishers, and the leadership of the APC for their trust and steadfast encouragement throughout the process.
The withdrawal is expected to strengthen APC’s chances in Obi State Constituency as the party consolidates behind a single candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
