Governor Hyacinth Alia Greets Christians on Easter, Urges Peace and Unity in Benue

Governor Hyacinth Alia has joined Christians across Benue State, Nigeria, and the world in celebrating Easter 2026, describing the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the triumph of light over darkness.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, April 5th, 2026, the governor encouraged Christians to emulate the qualities of love, sacrifice, forgiveness, and endurance that Jesus Christ personified and illustrated during His earthly ministry.

“We must strengthen the bond of brotherhood and good neighbourliness that citizens of a cohesive state and country should share,” Governor Alia said. “I urge all Christians in the state to continue to live peacefully with one another, playing their part to make the state and Nigeria a beautiful place to reside.”

The governor restated his administration’s commitment to adopting all necessary measures to effectively overcome challenges bedevilling the state, assuring that under his leadership, Benue will emerge better.

He implored Christians to sustain prayers for peace and security to be restored throughout the country, urging them to maintain hope for a brighter Nigeria.

Governor Alia wished all Christians in the state, the country, and around the world celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ a Happy Easter.

The message was signed by Sir Tersoo Kula, mnipr, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State.
