The alleged killing of Mrs. Clement Kwaghchimin, a 2023 graduate of Library and Information Science, has sparked widespread outrage and renewed calls for justice in Benue State.
Mrs. Kwaghchimin was reportedly killed on March 10, 2026, by her husband’s younger brother following a misunderstanding earlier in the day. The incident reportedly occurred while she was asleep, leaving her children motherless and her family devastated by grief.
Before her untimely death, she was pursuing a Master’s degree at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi.
Reacting to the tragic incident, the National Association of Library and Information Science Students strongly condemned the act, describing it as “a crime against humanity.”
The association urged the Benue State Government and security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure the suspect is brought to justice without delay. It stressed that “justice delayed is justice denied.”
The killing has left many in the academic and library science community in shock, with calls growing louder for swift action to address the circumstances surrounding the death of the promising young mother and scholar.
