It was a colourful homecoming laced with royal endorsement on Tuesday as the entire Yooyo Council of Chiefs stormed the Katsina-Ala residence of Hon. Prince Solomon Wombo, member representing Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency, to pay a solidarity visit and confer on him the prestigious chieftaincy title “Hur Or u Dedoo u Yooyo” – Light of Progress of Yooyo.
Led by the Tyoor Yooyo, His Highness Togo Adewar, the traditional rulers praised Wombo for his pivotal role in restoring the Katsina-Ala Local Government chairmanship seat to the Yooyo axis after years in the wilderness and for his unwavering support to their son, Dr. Shaku Justine, the current council chairman. They also hailed his aggressive pursuit of federal appointments, boreholes, rural roads, and other dividends that have touched every ward in the constituency.
In a rare show of unity, the chiefs appealed to all tiers of government to deliberately engage and employ Yooyo indigenes, saying the area has capable hands ready to serve the state and nation.
The meeting drew huge crowds of kinsmen, tax collectors, elders like Swende Francis, Hon. Ahar Ishom, Elder Aov Ishoho, Hon. Abdul Torkuma Igbabaka, and even the Tombo Council Ward in Logo LGA which sent its own delegation to identify with the federal lawmaker.
In return, the Yooyo Council wrapped Prince Wombo in traditional regalia and officially crowned him their beacon of progress, a title that carries enormous weight ahead of the 2027 elections.
Responding, Prince Wombo thanked the royal fathers for the honour and promised never to take their support for granted. He assured them of more robust representation, peace-building efforts, and youth empowerment while soliciting their continued prayers for himself, Governor Hyacinth Alia, and Dr. Shaku Justine beyond 2027.
The communities, in turn, pledged total loyalty to Wombo and the Alia administration, describing the lawmaker as a worthy son who has remembered home.
With the kind of traditional blessing poured on him yesterday, it is clear that if Prince Solomon Wombo chooses to run for any office in 2027, he will not be walking alone; an entire kingdom has already placed its royal staff behind him.
